Tarring Antiques Fine English Porcelains and Earthenwares (1780-1850)

About Tarring Antiques and Dr Douglas Gambling I started collecting English porcelains and earthenwares in the mid-1970s: first Ridgway, then Davenport, and finally second period Worcester. When I retired from medical practice at the end of 2001, I decided to fulfil an ambition of many years, and to trade in these fascinating wares. Tarring Antiques, based on the name of the village (part of Worthing) where we live, was started in July 2002. My stock consists mainly of table wares and decorative items from all the big factories of the period: Spode, Minton, Ridgway, Davenport, Derby, Coalport, New Hall and the Worcester factories. Any damages or imperfections are noted in the description. If nothing is mentioned you may assume that the piece is in good condition, without chips, cracks, significant rubbing, retouching, or restoration. However, if you would like a full condition report about any item, please feel free to contact me. Every piece for which I currently have photographs is described on the following pages, which are divided into sections by factory. Please contact me if you wish to buy, to see additional photographs of one or more pieces, have any questions concerning condition or attribution, or if you are looking for something in particular. You may deal with me in complete confidence. I look forward to hearing from you! |
